CS Beginner's Manual Generator
Powered by Python
Conjecture
We recognize that Computer Science and programming comes off as intimidating to beginners. Our manual aims to introduce some simple CS structures and syntax to middle school students or beginners interested in programming.
Definition
We want to make sure that all people leaving the public school systems have a basic understanding of CS. We want to explain basic CS structures, such as
conditional statements, for and while loops, and functions. We also want to talk about the different ways CS can be applied.
Quality
As CS-related fields grow and more jobs require basic programming or logical knowledge, it is important to make sure that students have easy access to these skills. In order to make sure the next generation
of workers are equipped and able to move forward, we need to introduce basic CS classes for everyone. Including these classes directly affects the students who will be taking them, but also the
industries that they will enter and the overall job market as a whole.
Policy
Right now, we need to set a basic curriculum in place about what points/pieces of CS are important and how we can incorporate them into current classes/ school structures.
We will spend time analyzing the school and classes to see what age group is the best suited for these classes and then we'll build a curriculum based around Python to address this need.
